YoDA FAQ & How to Use

Arrival estimates come from vehicle positions and stop events reported by each bus operator’s onboard units, and YoDA refreshes them about every 30 seconds. Traffic, dispatching and reporting gaps still affect the real time, so check the stop before you leave.

Arrival times are recalculated as vehicle locations, traffic, dispatching and operator reports change. An estimate may change or disappear when a vehicle stops reporting, is detoured or has already passed the stop. Please check conditions at the stop.

Search for a bus and open its route page to see outbound and return stops, first and last buses, headways, timetables and fares. Use the live view for current arrivals. Each route page also has its own FAQ at the bottom.

The stops board locates you and lists the nearest bus stops. Open any stop to see live arrivals and destinations for every route serving it, or search by stop name. The board covers city buses only; highway bus departures live on the highway bus pages.

All transport modes are selected by default. Search for an address or place, paste latitude and longitude, or use “Current location” to set a location directly. When choosing an individual transport mode, search for its stations. Each mode saves its own text, origin and destination. Results list options with total time, transfers and estimated fare; open one for journey details and the full path on the built-in map.

The planner uses the Ministry of Transportation’s TDX MASS service, which is under maintenance from 1:00 to 5:30 a.m., so no results are available then. Check first and last buses on the route page in the meantime, or try again in the morning. The planner page has a fuller FAQ of its own.

Not yet. Metro station pages use the official timetable to work out the next departures and the first and last trains in each direction, not live train positions. During delays or incidents, follow the announcements at the station.

Once you choose the origin and destination, travel time adds up the scheduled running time between stations plus transfers, and the fare is the official full adult fare without electronic-ticket transfer discounts. Station pages also list nearby bus stops and YouBike docks for easy connections.

Scheduled highway bus departures across Taiwan, by operator, route or stop. Pick an operator, boarding and alighting stops and a date to list that day’s departures with scheduled times at each stop, or browse each operator’s route directory and stop sequences.

Highway bus departures come from the timetable published by the Directorate General of Highways. Some operators publish only origin and destination times without stop-by-stop schedules, so those routes can be browsed but no departures can be listed. Data is refreshed monthly; always confirm departures with the operator.

Not yet. Highway bus pages show scheduled departures and stop sequences only, without vehicle positions or arrival estimates.

Make sure your browser has permission to share your location with YoDA and that device location is enabled. If the location is imprecise or no supported stop is nearby, search by stop name instead.

It is the total number of bikes currently available at all YouBike 2.0 docks within 500 m of that stop, refreshed about every 10 minutes and paused from 1:00 to 5:30 a.m. Open it to see bikes and empty docks at each station and refresh manually. Coverage is currently Taipei and New Taipei.

City buses: Taipei, New Taipei and Taoyuan. Metro: Taipei Metro, New Taipei Metro and Taoyuan Metro. Highway buses: scheduled departures for operators across Taiwan. YouBike: Taipei and New Taipei. More areas will be added as their data becomes ready.

Greater Taipei bus data comes from Taipei and New Taipei government open data. Taoyuan bus data comes from Taoyuan City Government Open Data and the Taoyuan eBus service. Highway bus data comes from the Directorate General of Highways timetable and operator directory on the national open data platform. Route planning and YouBike use the TDX MASS and YouBike services. Metro currently uses existing data, which will be progressively replaced with official and public operator sources.

Live bus arrivals refresh about every 30 seconds and YouBike about every 10 minutes. Static data such as routes, stops, stop sequences and highway bus timetables is re-imported from official open data every month and published only after full validation. Temporary schedule changes, detours and suspensions follow each authority’s announcements.

No. YoDA is an independently built public transport lookup site with no affiliation to city governments, metro companies or bus operators. All data comes from the public sources above, and the authorities and operators remain the source of truth.

Saved routes, recent searches and your preferred service area are stored only in this device’s browser and never uploaded to a server, so they will not carry over to another device or survive clearing browsing data. YoDA does not require sign-up or login.

Use the preferences at the top of the page to switch service area and language; Traditional Chinese, English and Japanese are available. Your service area is remembered, while the language is part of the URL, so shared links open in the same language.

No. YoDA never shows full-screen ads; that is one of the reasons the site exists. There are only a few local information cards marked “AD”, always placed after the main content and collapsible at any time. They are how the service stays free.
